It has been SO awesome having my friend Mikyla here with me!! We became friends in photography class in high school and then spent months traveling around Europe together when we were 19, having the time of our lives. It has been a few years since I've seen her and I have been super excited to continue our adventures on US soil! So far we have had a girls weekend in Palm Springs, been motorcycling, she got her first tattoo, AND of course, we got dressed up and went to the shooting range to play with my PINK .22 & .410 gauge shotgun... I wonder how much more cool stuff we can cram into her trip!?

A DicE Announcement

We are fast approaching the release of our 50th issue, 10 years now and I still can't quite believe we've made it this far, however we bloody well have and it feels brilliant. You may have noticed we have no info or pricing for a subscription on our bigcartel online store. There is a reason for that. About a year ago we decided to revamp the magazine, new layout, new size, more pages, higher quality and with a new feel. We agreed that issue 50 would be the perfect time to launch the all new DicE. We also wanted to keep it under our hats for awhile. However that didn't work out too well, we were so excited we told everyone, we are crap at keeping secrets it turns out. Dean and I have been waiting patiently (?!) for the printers to send us a sample copy. A: because we were going mental just to see if all our work had been worth it and B: to get some idea of postage costs. The new magazine is a larger, thicker format and so therefore heavier. The mailing will be a little more expensive but definitely well worth it. If your sub needs renewing or you want to sign up for one you should be able to do that very soon. Or before you do perhaps order a single issue when it becomes available in 2 weeks time and see what you will be getting for your hard earned cash. As soon as we have figured out prices we will let you know. We are very very pleased indeed and extremely proud of the results. It's not just issue 50, it's Volume 2 issue 1. A whole new beginning. Every issue from now on will be a collaboration of some sort with people and companies we all know and love along with guest editors too. Issue 50 we have teamed up with Jamie from Repop MFG, 50 copies will be collectors limited editions which include some very special one off items made by the man himself, more on that soon. The regular copies all come with something rather special too. We also ran a cover competition for our readers. The response and subsequent artwork was amazing, we tied ourselves up in knots trying decide a winner. In the end we added more pages and picked not one but eight covers all printed alongside each other. Wait though, I'm giving far too much away!

Karla Munoz

 

Devastatingly, the world lost an amazing, beautiful and loving woman on Sunday evening. 

Karla Munoz left us when she had a bad motorcycle accident on the 55 freeway in 

Orange County, California. 

I didn't know Karla personally, but I have heard of the way she would light up any room she walked into with her smile and vivacious personality. She was a truly beautiful person, inside and out.

There are various events going on in California for Karla. Please come celebrate Karla's life and show support for her friends and family, all are welcome!

DicE Issue #50 Release Party

We will be celebrating the release of our milestone, brand new and improved issue 50, or volume 2 issue 1, of Dice at Motorious in Copenhagen on Thursday May 23., the day before the Castle Run. Why not bundle up both events and take part in what is guaranteed to be the best weekend of the year. Make sure to take the whole week off, so you can enjoy the ride to beautiful Copenhagen where the girls are blond and the beer is cold and plenty. The Dice #50 release party will be a well balanced mixture of fancy motosickles lined up for miles, good people, cool music and beer from Krenkerup. All this packed up in the cool, historic surroundings of the Motorious back yard - where time disappears along with your brain cells and savings. We have teamed up with local bars in the area (i.e. the legendary Tiki bar Brass Monkey across the street) to offer extra party guarantee for those rum-hungering hoards of chopper tourists that will take over town this weekend. There will be food and sunshine and giveaways to best bikes, those coming from the furthest away and to those who absolutely don't expect to win anything. The shop will also be open and Lau & Kasper will be happy to rip you off for the old crusty motorcycle part you absolutely must have. Let us know in advance if you need to park the bike for the night, and we will find a safe spot for you. On Friday we all ride off together from Motorious at 12:00 to The Castle Run. Make sure to come early as you then will have more time to get down. We have brewed 450 bottles of our own special issue 50 beers too. Pretty simple.
